i ride tri county. the stock maxxis on the 450 grizz dont hold on the turns too well. i dont want to go with knobby tires b/c i dont want to get stuck in mud either

Bighorns do OK in the mud and are great on the trails.

Yes the Big Horns is a good all around tire. Everyonethat I know that has them love them. I wonder if the many knoll off Big Horns perform as well as the real ones. I know they are less expensive.

thanks for the input! i have been looking at that the bighorn knock offs but i wasnt sure of their mud performance and how they "cleaned out"

I have zillas on my Rincon and am happy with them. They ride pretty smooth on the trail and dig good in the mud. Pretty good priced. I have 2,000 miles on and they still have great tread left. They do run almost an inch short in height.

I got Zillas too, although I haven't had them more than 6 months yet. So far I can say they are great for trail riding, AWESOME for making new trails (cause they dig so much), and I have had mine in some deep stuff where I found out they seem to hook up better than my old ITP 589's. The only bad I have to say about them is they chew up my grass and they are not puncture proof! I got about 5 plugs in 2 holes in both my back tires. They don't seem to like railroad spikes a whole bunch. LOL!!! BAH HA HA HA HA HA HA!!! The price is definately right on these tires and so far I'm not disapointed, they seem to work realy good. I give them 1.5 thumbs up out of 2. Only cause I got plugs in them already, but railroad spikes do have a habit of putting holes in tires. LOL!!

i have a set of the BH knock offs. mine are the Duro PowerGrips. i now have about 3000 miles on them and they still have about 3/4" of tread left. i have only 1 plug in one tire and it was from my sisters ox of a dog biting them. i have had these tires all over Tri-County, SSRT, Rock Run, Majestic trails, Rockhouse, Bearwallow, Indian Ridge, Pinnacle Creek, the outlaw trails in WV and just this week, ANF. i am VERY happy with these tires. my only complaint is that they are only available in 25" for 12" wheels. they are still a 6 ply and a radial. i will definitely buy another set when i wear these out!

Tried a set of these Grim Reapers on my Sportsman XP and I've found my new go to tire!

Go with the zillas. For what you want them to do, this is exactly what you need.

Dunno why Polaris and Can Am are the only ones to put decent meats on their upper end quads.

Have both the Maxxis Bighorns and the AMS Swamp Fox.

Almost 3000 on the Bighorns and still going strong. Great all around tire and the longevity is awesome.

Not alot of miles on the Swamp Foxs, but they are also a good all around tires. They do grab the turns much better than the the Bighorns. I am lloking to swap out my Bighorns with the AMS Swamp Fox Plus tires when i do.

im still a little lost on tires, pressure, type
id imagine the crap maxxis on my grizz 450 are bias
we set the pressure at 3 lbs but it felt like they where going to slip off the rims so i filled them to 4lbs but they still feel/ look "flat" i really dont want to much higher b/c it rode and bounced like a dumptruck with 5 lbs
id imagine the radials with the weaker sidewall would be the same or worse in the squating dept
also ive been leaning toward duro big horn knock offs they come in radials... smoother ride
but im scared they will pack with mud and squat like my stocks

never had any trouble with my Duro's. they are not a great mud tire, but they do very well.

I hear ya Chris. The first 1500 miles on mine were great, but just in these last 500 miles, expecially this last weekend I've had to put 5 plugs in mine, too. There is only one tire anymore without plugs.
