I seen this in the Cabela's catalog and was wondering if anyone has one? Looks like a good idea and may work but I would like to here from someone that has one. There are only 2 reviews on the Cabela's site so any info would be appreciated. ATV Dust Mask at Cabela's

i don't have one, but there have been countless times when ive thought about some kind of mask to wear. even those white ones. i would always get headaches on poker runs and i thought it was probably from all of the dust

On the Pine Twp. run , my daughter and I used hankerchiefs over our faces . When you buckle your helmet it seels up pretty good in a pinch . Just would'nt go to Sheetz looking like that ............. gunslinger

I usually use my under armor face mask and my wife and daughter use hankerchiefs. If I spend $25.00 on this I want to know if ,it worked good, if its washable? is its comfortable?

I considered buying that also. Haven't pulled the trigger on it. I use hankerchiefs too. I have problems with my goggles fogging up when I wear something over my nose and mouth. Maybe those breather ports on that mask would eliminate that.

I wear a dust mask when I ride in the coal lands (especially if Im bringing up the rear). They work well and they are cheap insurance of being able to breathe in 20yrs. I recently found the following product and Im might give it a try:

The U2 is also what I have. I love it. I thought it would suck when it was warm, but it wasn't as bad as I had thought. No worse than a hankie.

Good info Ghost Rider!! I may have to try one. Unfortunately, there was no mention of filter efficiency on their site.

What kind of terrain do you ride on?

ssrt. dusty conditions. it still lets dirt get through. but after riding on a normal day without it blowing dirt and black soot out my nose and gritty teeth for a few days. with the wolf snout on I still have a bit of grit in my teeth but nothing a water rinse wouldnt take care of. and I could breath through my nose fine. its worth the 20 bucks. I think it filters down to 5 microns?

Don't try the Cabela's dust mask. It's very tight, not real breathable, and has all the styling of an ace bandage wrapped around your mouth. We've always used hankys, but I think I'm going to try these RZRs this year.

yeah guys I would definately reccommend testing out the RZR Mask. Its exhale valves keep your goggles and glasses from fogging up, it fits extremely comfortably and it will filter out anything down to .1 micron in size. Definately worth buying guys.

I never bought the one from Cabelas after reading the reviews on it. I will look into the RZRMask

I have been researching dust masks to ride this summer. Ate too much dirt last year. Anyway I found this site. I looked at the rzr mask and maybe I'm missing something here. Do you mean it's a great mask for the winter stuff? Wouldn't it be even hotter and harder to breath than a home depot mask? It's only dusty here when its hot. These are reviews from the RZR web site.

"I shoveled with the RZR Mask the last snow storm and I was amazed at how warm it kept my face."

Drew - Hunting
"I used the camo edition in the deer stand this winter. Kept my face warm, lungs fresh, and the best part my breath was scentless. Low and behold, i got a deer with the bow that weekend."

"I like wearing the RZR Mask outside for hockey. Keeps my face warm, the warm air keeps my lungs from hurting on the frigid days."

Joe - Cold Weather
"I use your RZRmask all around our family Farm, The Barn, Silo's, and I really enjoy not having to smell My pig barn anymore."

"I shoveled with the RZR Mask the last snow storm and I was amazed at how warm it kept my face."

Anyway just a thought. I guess If they gave me a free one It would still be way to hot to say otherwise

I think alot of the reviews are winter based because that is when they really started to push their product and gave some free samples out for review. I would hope they will work just as good in the summertime, as soon as it gets dusty I am sure there will be a ton of summer reviews.

Anything wrapped around your face in the summer will be warm. That's the tradeoff .

Yeah guys,, keeps you nice and warm in the winter,, and yet it does get a little warmer in the summer, but so does anything your gonna wear, and while your riding its pretty much unnoticeable, breaks in the action you'll start to warm up but thats the perfect time to take it off ok

I see they cut the wolfsnout guy. He should have paid off the admin
maybe they would say his product is good to. I'm going to order one of each and get my own reveiw. It seems like that's the only way you can know for sure.

Will the RZR guy give the same money back guarantee that the wolfsnout guy did
Guaranteed to be the easiest to breathe and the coolest in the summer ??? It will be pricey to buy one of each I was thinking
Wolfsnout, RZR Atv tek. and I already have a U2.

So I have the U2 mask, which for the most part, the rzr mask appears to be a copy of (correct me if I am wrong), except that the U2 is washable and I don't have to buy replacement inserts. So my question is... are those inserts for the rzr washable or do I use it once and put in a new one? I am just trying to figure out what advantage the rzr has over my U2.

Thanks

Justin

I have u2 and cant stand to wear it in the summer and it fell down to much and turned in to a neck warmer. After all the dirt I ate last summer I am going to try the others, common sense tells me the wolfsnout is the one. I have bean researching and have found some racers use the wolfsnout. I think thats the one I will try first if it don't work I'll move to the next or only ride in the mud.
The lungs are getting to old for all that dust.

What makes our mask special is the one-way exhaust valves on the front, to allow moisture and CO2 to be easily released, as far as far as the filters go they will last for a while, multiple rides for sure, and also you can clean the filters, the best way we've found is just blow them out with an air compressor and they come out lookin brand new, or else in some mild soap and water, but that does wear them down a little more. But if you blow them out with a compressor they last for a good while, but I would say one filter would last several weekends of riding without having to clean the filter. And for $6.95 for three brand new fresh filters, it turns out pretty nice ok Also anyone who like to listen to tunes while your out riding, the MP3 player pouch is a nice touch

That is cool an all, but for a one time buy of the U2, I don't have to buy anything again. I will watch the reviews though.

I notice a post of mine was deleted.

Got mine today. It is far superior to my U2. Fits my face much better and is much more comfortable. It will be a little warm in the summer, but so long as you are moving or take it off when you are not, it will be fine.

I will give my thoughts when it is actually 90F 90% humidity. But initially, thumbs up.

Justin

I am waiting to hear how u like the mask before I purchase one. I would also like to use it to cut grass. Wondering if it would help with the pollen.

I wear a 1XL helmet and got the XL mask. They have a 2XL mask I believe.

Yeah guys, it will do very well with pollen,, thats a very good use for it,, and if you've got a 3X helmet the XXL will be fine,, we've yet to hear from anyone that the XXL was not big enough so you'll be fine

Yeah big head, big feet, small brain. My body must have added extra space for padding when I was a kid, considering all the knocks it took!! brick

I will give my thoughts when it is actually 90F 90% humidity. But initially, thumbs up.

OK just a follow up review, I finally got to use my mask for the first time this weekend, out on RAC land, where it was very hot, sunny, and dusty..., mainly coal dust.

This mask worked great for keeping the dust out of my mouth and nose. It worked much better at filtering than my U2 mask did, so I am happy with the purchase.

It is warm though..., but I am not sure it is more warm than any other solution available. When I was moving, it wasn't so bad and it was definitely better than sucking in the coal dust from the 10 quads ahead of me.

When stopped, I would start to sweat under the mask, but lifting my goggles and helmet and pulling the mask down alleviated that.

So, I can deal with some warmth and sweat to keep that nasty dust out of my lungs.

I highly recommend this for anyone that rides in dusty areas, especially coal areas.

I have picked one up as well but haven't been able to use it. I know that it will make things better in one way or the other. Every once in a while on Facebook they offer a free pack of additional filters if you order within a certain time frame. This is what I did and I also got the site discount. Can't lose when you get free stuff!
