I agree...Poker Run racers are a pain. But there are times when I want to open it up and get moving and I just wait for the others to slide over so I can make a clean pass, and I try not to throw crap on them while I am on the gas passing.

I was at a poker run 2 years ago and there was a father and an uncle and about a 10 year old riding. i was behind them all, with the little one being in front. We werent going fast at all but it didnt bother me at the time, as I was enjoying myself watching the little one go at it. Here comes an a-hole on a dirt bike flying by all of us. Roosted the little one bad. About 10 minutes we pass him on the side of the trail and he is drinking a beer. Then 10 minutes go by and here he comes again. This time he pushes the little one off into the woods and we have to dig his quad out of the bush. Well needless so say I helped the guys with the little one and we finally get to the 2nd check point. Dad and the uncle get off their rides and go find JOhnny Jackass who once again, is chillin drinking a beer. We'll lets just say dad and uncle drug him into the woods to talk to him and only 2 of them came back out. Then they went over to his bike, took a wrench and took his front tire off and took it all the way back to checkpoint 4 with them (home base). I laughed just because this guy had what was coming to him. I watched him stumble out of the woods after dad and uncle did a little "fist to face" introduction. The look on his face when I told him his tire would be back at the fire hall was priceless.

i have noticed allot of the bikers are jackasses like this.

we were on a poker run a few years ago and it poured. there was a fairly big hill and my brother in law got caught in a rut on his 400ex. he got off to get in unstuck, then was standing beside the quad for a sec. this dirtbike came flying past the huge line of people up the hill and almost ran my brother in law over.

Dirt bikes don't "suck" its the people who ride/control them that do...when they act like idiots...

Talking about "beer"...I have seen alot of the same people/riders...constantly drink on the trials..as of lately...not a good sight to see

Report them. I know it goes against our grain but, from a management and DCNR big shot point of view, seeing the people who enjoy the sport responsibly actually reporting other disrespectful/ dangerous riders will not only help keep us safer, and our kids, but will also show the powers that be, we are not a unified bunch of rednecks just out to tear up the woods and ruin state parks. Besides, if someone hits my kids and I smell booze on em, and they are visibly drunk, they wont see the Ranger till they wake up in the hospital.

Let's face it, there's always a little bike vs. quad antagonism on the trails. But not yielding to a young rider on either is inexcusable. I understand that some of these guys on their 2 stroke bikes gotta maintain speed, but it's never an excuse for an unsafe pass. I would also say that some puffy quad riders get bent when you pass them with a bike or a quad. I followed a guy riding 2 up on a recent run for a good 2-3 miles waiting for a safe pass. The trail opened and he went right and I passed left , he got pissed and cut my son (yfz 450) off behind me when he tried to pass. Totally unnecessary - you're riding 2 up and you don't think you're gonna get passed? Gimme a break - real smart buddy!!
