The annual CCR ride from Trevorton to Donaldson is scheduled for October 22nd. With a rain date of November 5th. Leaving camp at 8am and arriving in Donaldson around 5-6pm. This ride is about 85 miles all thru the trails.There will be trucks staged for the return of bikes and riders to Trevorton.
This ride is for atv's, dirt bikes and utv's only.Last year there were 17 riders.

Scheduled stops will include the Fire Tower above Burnside, Mine fire site above locust summit, D 28 windmill arirtes, 1hour lunch and refueling stop at Redners Market above Gilberton. The top of the world above Saint Clair,901 pub in buck run, Newtown falls and the Floom above newtown and final destination the staging area in Donaldsons. Redners market above Gilberton has a hot deli bar, cold subs, drinks, smokes etc. Fuel is also available there we are going to have provisions in place to fill up at this stop. If your bike is 2 stroke or requires race fuel we will have to make arrangements please let me know this ahead of time.

I met Dennis when Rrudzi and I went for the DCNR certification. a he is ALMOST as dedicated to riding as Mud Duck. Everyone is welcome and he is a very good guy, and could probably ride all of the area blondfolded. Im hoping for rain so that I can make it on the 5th, but thats the only reason!! What little bit of the area he showed us was awesome and nowhere I would have found on my own without a lt of time and a gps!!!! His knowledge of the area is impressive and their camp is a little jem tucked away in the woods.

THAT 85 MILES, IS THAT ROUND TRIP? WHATS WITH "FOR THE RETURN OF BIKES? IS THAT THE BROKEN DOWN ONES? I THINK IM IN, BUT I NEED MORE DETAILS. I MIGHT HAVE SOME MORE QUESTIONS.

Its a one way ride, and at the end they are staging trucks to return the ATVs to the camp back at Treverton, right below the flats. If you remember the area we drove through where all the campers were, then we hit an open area, and then went across the raod to the coal hills. That area there is called the flats. They are leaving there and heading out toward tinwood, then are going to go on the ride.

I spoke with Dennis and he will be with us this weekend so you guys can meet up, but he said if there is a group at tinwood he will sync up with any riders there at the Yellow arrows on the main trail at around 8:30, and then continue so that you guys dont have to ride out to the flats and then backtrack.

Like I said Dennis will be at Rock Run with us this weekend and you can shoot the breeze about.

Just wanted people interested in this ride to know. This is one of the most extreme rides thru coal country geared to the dedicated riders. 85 miles takes about 8hrs of almost non stop riding thru the terrain. Any break downs will be tried to fix on the trail.With limited stops on this one way ride. 8am is the strict departure time and finish around 5-6pm There is also a more relaxed ride on the 12th of November for those who want to tour the interior of Trevorton.

I would love to go but I don't know if I can get out of another commitment. I ride from Pine Grove to the 901 Pub but would love to ride this just to find my way up there from Pine Grove. I also hope it rains so I can make it on the 5th. I love the long trail rides like this so maybe I can change my other plans to make it.

Yeah 85 miles means your thumb will be numb for about 6 and a half hours!!!! Its gonna be a great rie, and I hope it works out I can make it!

Not going to be able to make the trip, but sure would like to see the GPS track if someon's willing to record it.

i'm going to keep it real real and say I dont think I can handle 85 miles. like clint said " a man has to know his limitations" I do not know mine,but dont want to fint them at the 60 mile marker in the woods. so with that said I am out but will make the kiddy trip next time. mud duck

This ride will be split into 2 groups. A faster paced ride with dirt bikes and fast quad riders. And a moderate paced ride with the quads and utv's. Anyone thats is interested in joining post up and ill add your name to the list.

Put me on the list but as for which pace I don't know. I usually ride with sports quads and have to keep my Grizzly pegged to keep pace with them so that's where I probably will ride. I don't want to go slow but also I don't want to go with the fast pace group that goes so fast the trip isn't enjoyably.

Welcome riders. We are anticipating a large group for Saturdays ride. We are asking that everybody be in camp by 7am with your bike or quad fully serviced. We have an 8am departure time. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated. We are looking forward to a great day of riding followed by a community cook out Saturday night. We would ask that everyone bring a special favorite.

The Coal Region Classic 85 mile ride from Trevorton to Donaldson. It was a great turnout with 42 riders listed at the checkpoint at Redners market.Hope everyone enjoyed the ride. We would appreciate anyone that would like to review this ride and give us feedback on any improvements or changes that can be made. We are always open for suggestions.

The ride was a blast this weekend I enjoyed every minute of it. We broke up into two groups; bikes, sports quads then utility, utv, slower riders. It was somewhere around 9 hours on the trail with stops for breaks downs, hill climbing, eating and gas, then just rest breaks or scenic stops. The crew at CCR put a lot of work into this ride and I want to thank them for all their work. We did have a bike that wouldn't start one that blow up before we left Trevorton, a flat tire that took 8 plugs others had slow leaks, a chain broke and a front sprocket broke the teeth off going up a wash out on a hill that I had to toe up to the top for repairs. But we all made it except the bike that blew up in the first mile. All the breakdowns were in my group except the sprocket and that's because we had the fast group that pushed our bikes and quads almost the complete ride. The only improvement I can think of is: More rides like this!!!
