Hey Ya'll- can you point me to the info on registering/titling ATVs?

Search didn't pull up much.

I moved to PA a couple of years ago from NC. Never did anything with my ATVs. I have OEM MCOs. Now I want to tag them here. Do I have to pay PA sales tax? Of course I don't want to...I paid sales tax in NC.

Seems like PA just wants more money: reg fees, title fess, taxes.

Im not sure about the sales tax, however if you already own them and they are in your name I doubt you woudl need to.

As long as you have the paperwork, and only want to title them and register them in Pa it should be 35 dollars for 2 years. Any good tag sevice or Notary will be able to do it for you without too much hassle. If you ahve the original paperwork form the purchase bring ti with you. The more paperwork you have the better. I know my sister registered hers here, and she is from Jersey, and did not have to pay any sales tax at all.

You can also call the DCNR and see what they say. I have found the people there who work in title and registration are very helpful and will actually tell you the best way to get it done, as compared to the grumpiness that comes with calling PennDOT.

Are the MCO's in your name? If so you should have no problem at all. They will charge you a title fee plus dcnr registration fee and you should be exempt from taxes. I on the other hand am having a problem getting a title for one of my machines cause the mco is in the old owners name. They said they would have to title in his name then transfer that title to me . Pain in my a$$.

Thanks for the info. MCO is not in any name, has my name (notarized) as first assigned owner.
