I don't own one. Might be a good idea, but we really don't fly around roosting each other. I probably should get one for my Daughter.

I will be purchasing the AXO Air Cage soon. Why? Two years ago I found out the hard way you don't need to be traveling very fast to get hurt. I was almost at a standstill when my bike went off a little drop and shifted. I was just about to put the bike in neutral when this happened and when it shifted I bumped the thumb throttle and the next thing I know I was in the blueberry bushes looking at the sky. I slammed my elbow and knee on some rocks. I guess riding gear only works if you......wear it!! LOL!! The AXO AirCage offers great all around protection to the arms, chest, and back. It also has a built-in kidney belt. It has ample ventilation. Cons: People have said they put their fingers through the meshing while putting it on or taking it off. So you will have to be a bit careful. Aside from that I've heard really good reviews. http://www.axo.com/Main/default/ProductsDetail.aspx?id=1602

i have a fox air frame, long with dodging rocks from other racers/riders in front of you they help to keep alot of mud off your shirt. i also wear knee and shine guards as well and glad i do, makes it alot easier to kneel down on the track and not have to watch out planting your knee on rocks plus i cant count how many times ive hit my shines on my trailer tongue with the guards on, only took once with out them to figure out that it kinda hurts lol. i think chest protectors are a great idea incase you wreck most of the time you wont get the wind knocked out of ya from landing on your back on a huge rock or stump or branch plus if you get ran over the tires wont give you road rash.

i bought one and its to hot to wear. the only good think i found out about them is if your buddy in front of you has a dirt bike, it will help with the rocks on the chest.

I wear a Thor Impact Rig SE Protector everytime I ride... http://www.rockymountainatvmc.com/produc...961&ref=gmc Like GeoD said, I also learned the hard way that having the proper safety gear is essential. I climbed a hill that I thought I had just gone down, but it turned out be a different hill. When I got to the top, i quickly realized that the other side had been washed out. My front tires went into a ditch and launched me over the bars to the bottome of the 15-foot deep gulley. I would have been in much better shape had I been wearing the Impact Rig then. So, more about the Impact Rig...I chose this over the AXO and Fox models based on reviews that I read. Based on what I read, the Thor seems to be more durabale and comfortable than the others. I've only worn the Thor, but I love it. Once it's on, you don't even know it's there because it's very flexable and breathes well. I haven't crashed with it yet (and don't plan to!), but I know that it will protect me well if I do. I've had some sticks and rocks hit me pretty hard and and I barely feel it. When I wear the Impact Rig, I always wear a tight fitting moisture wicking (polyester)shirt under it and a jersey over it. Even on 90-degree days I don't get soaked in sweat as long as I keep moving. With the wicking layer and the breathable material on the Impact Rig, I stay dry. On cold winter days, I have an oversized pair of coveralls and that works great over top of it. I can even fit my CamelBak over it all. I'm 5'7", 150lbs and the S/M size fits me perfectly. If you're reading this, you're obviously a rider and probalby have considered getting some type of chest protector. Take it from me; when you wreck, that few hundred dollars you sacrificed for your safety will be very well worth it. When we put our bodies against rocks and trees, we'll lose everytime! Happy riding!

My son always wears one whenever he rides. He had a run in with a telephone pole. It bent the heck out of the a-arms and threw him into his handle bars. Luckily he was wearing his chest protector......no broken ribs!!
