ATV vacation in Maine

I'm trying to plan a vacation to Maine next summer. Ideally I'd like to unload the atvs and ride to a campground set up camp, spend the night then pack up the tent and ride atvs to another campground or lodge. Then again another night somewhere else before heading back to the truck. Anybody done this? I'd like to stay at a different place each night. Kind of an adventure maybe. Thanks

there is a guy on GrizzlyRiders who claims to have put on 300 miles in maine in one 16 hour ride. there are supposed to be a ton of trails there. try some of the snowmobile sites, i guess they let you run quads on those trails when the snow is off.

it was in jackman maine 287 miles i did but 300 sounds better i am sure u can do that out there just don't know where u can park your truck at night

njgrizzly, what were the trails in Jackman like? Were they wide open dirt roads or atv trails? I heard up north they are mostly wide open. Not sure if Jackman is considered north. Looks to me like Jackman, North Forks and two towns on Moosehead Lake are all connected by trails. I'm noth sure of the distances though. I'll have to google that, at least to get an approximate distance. I found a map from a campground that gave the distances a while back. I hope I saved it.
