Thanks to Chaser for finding this and bringing it to our attention, and 4x4Dad for the information on using it. This link is quick and easy to use, requires less than a minute of your time and helps legislators hear us about our opinion on monies being spent for Recreational use. Please click the link and fill in the blanks, it truly only takes a minute. http://atvingpa.com/forums/ubbthreads.php/topics/19304/Frustrated#Post19304The ARRA , Americans for Responsible Recreational Access , Is currently asking all ATV/OHV trail users to please TAKE ACTION by contacting thier Senators to retain our Recreational Trails Program ( RTP ) . It is in danger of being cut from the Federal budget . TAKE ACTION is very simple after you fill in your info for the first time . Then click ( remember me ) . Then also check the box that will E-mail you for further ATV ACTION alerts . All I do is click TAKE ACTION link , then it takes me to a form letter , finish filling in your info , then SUBMIT . It will send an informed letter to ALL of your representatives asking them to vote on your behalf for your offroad interests . It works because I always get a form letter reply from ALL of them that they recieved my letter of concern . Very easy to do to know you are being heard ....

I received a reply from Sen. Toomey explaining why he voted against the bill as presented to them, and why. If anyone else has recevived auotmated replies please let us know from who and what they said. Sen Toomey said;
"I voted against this legislation due to my concern over the large amount of spending it included. Our Nation is facing a $1 trillion deficit, and the Presidents latest budget proposal continues this unsustainable path for years to come. All areas of government spending must be carefully examined so that we can put our nation on the path toward fiscal solvency. Inevitably, tough choices will have to be made, and making such choices is something that I have promised to the people of Pennsylvania." He went on to say more bu that was the meat and potatoes of his stance. Cant really say I disagree with him, however there is still a case to be made on a State govmnt level, where we can try to make the case that local financial growth is inevetiable in areas where ATVing is legal allowed and user friendly. Even with that we have to show we can police ourselves, and support the local law enforcement and rangers in keeping the idiots at bay.

I got the same email Irish. I do see his point, but ya gotta consider the local economy to. More trails mean more quickymart spending. More gas, more snacks, more beer, you know. But yeah we have to fight harder, gotta work together. Stop being our worst enemy. Police up after ourselves.

I did it. Cant stand how political these things become, especially with how divided the left and right are right now . I agree with 4X4 we need to continue fighting.

I am sure you guys received the same but here is the response from Casey. At least he is willing to consider this and listen a bit. Toomey basically says if it cost $ the answer is no. Not a big fan of that answer!..... Thank you for taking the time to contact me regarding the Recreational Trails Program. I appreciate hearing from you about this issue. The Recreational Trails Program was created as part of our Nation’s highway program in 1991. This program uses money from the federal highway trust fund to support the individual states in acquiring, maintaining and developing recreational trails for motorized and non-motorized use. As with most of our Nation’s transportation programs, the Recreational Trails Program must be reauthorized. This year, Congress will consider legislation that will set federal surface transportation policy for the next several years. During that time, I am committed to working with my colleagues to find ways to strengthen the federal investment in our Nation’s highways, bridges and public transportation systems, including recreational trails. As this critical work continues, please be assured that I will keep your views in mind. Again, thank you for sharing your thoughts with me. Please do not hesitate to contact me in the future about this or any other matter of importance to you. If you have access to the Internet, I encourage you to visit my web site, http://casey.senate.gov. I invite you to use this online office as a comprehensive resource to stay up-to-date on my work in Washington, request assistance from my office, or share with me your thoughts on the issues that matter most to you and to Pennsylvania. Sincerely, Bob Casey United States Senator

 I would like to personally thank each and everyone of you ( ENTHUSIASTS ) that took the time to take action on the RECREATIONAL TRAILS PROGRAM . IT PASSED THE U.S. SENATE VOTE !!!!!!!!!!!!! Awesome job everyone.... Recreational Trails Program We have already reported to you the great news about saving the Recreational Trails Program in the U.S. Senate. The amendment by Senators Klobuchar, Burr and other senators, was accepted by the leadership of the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee during the course of Senate floor debate on the transportation reauthorization legislation. The committee leaders were the same people who originally reported legislative language that would have practically gutted this important recreation program. This major turnaround of events was due to the awesome work of thousands of recreational enthusiasts throughout the country. We are very pleased with this outcome .
