who all has a rollcage on the back of their side x side? They are quite pricey, so my dad and i made one for mine. i also put a back seat and 4 point harnesses for the kiddies.

if you have one, what kind is it and where did you get it. i wouldn't mind later on getting a one piece cage instead of the add-on like mine

I had Mark Smith at Mach 1 chassis in Mechanicsburg make my one piece cage for my Teryx. The stock cage sucks, and I didn't want to have it crumble on me. Mine is made out of race car tubing, as he builds mostly sprint car chassis. Yes it was a lot more expensive than some others, but it's much sturdier (and his first one, which probably added some $$$)

I was spot checked at the Timberline trailhead parking lot ( Allegheny National Forest ). I was in the process of strapping my 3yr olds carseat into the passenger Teryx seat . As I was getting the straps situated in the Teryx , I placed her carseat in the bed of the Teryx until I was ready to strap it in the passenger seat ( carseat buckles & straps are quite complicated ) . The Ranger quickly walked up and proceeded to reprimand me for attempting to put my daughter and her seat in the bed of the Teryx . I asked if he was joking or really serious ? I think by the mix of puzzled & angry look on my face , he realized he made a BAD assumption . I then proceeded to quote from thier rules , that a child will be placed in a UTV the same way they are placed in a motor vehicle . Thus , the reason for the buckles and straps for the carseat to be secured !
He then proceeded to tell me about all the crazy adults riding double & triple with children on ( one - up ) quads & motorcycles . He informed me ALL seating MUST be OEM for ATVs and UTVs . Aftermarket does'nt count even if it is BETTER and SAFER than OEM seating .

I checked our ( State Forest ) rules & regs . They DO NOT specify OEM seating rules . Only brakes & lighting .I guess they trust common scense of adults .
