Well I guese they needed to do that to keep the riff raff out of their trail system ,but I cant understand why they wouldnt give room for the machines. I understand that they go off of widths predescribed by our registrations but if they are riders, like they claom to be, why wouldnt they take the extra width into account and accomodate the wider machines they know will run there? Maybe Im being nit-picky. Maybe its a DCNR agreement or Insurance issue. Maybe everyones an Asshat in disguise. The Shadow knows! ghost doh

Don't know. Good point. With their main rail bed, and twp. roads it's perfect for catering to a growing crowd and the trend towards wider UTVs.

That place is run by some backward thinking people, that's all I can tell. LOL!! One of their yahoo's cries about mini jeeps on the trails, but that is an excellent place for SxS's and most people with SxS's are hauling friends and family. Isn't that what it's about? I mean the kids love it. I don't mind, if I do ANY traveling to ride this year I guess I'll get a RAC permit too, more to ride anyhow. Treverton is what got me back into riding and I still think that's the best riding I ever did. SSRT was fun but if this is how it's gonna be the heck with'em. And I was thinking about going up there on the 29th with the Ranger, guess not now.

Im going to give it one more shot, open my eyes a little more and make some calls out there to see if I can find someone who knows what the story is. Ill base next years renewal on that.

As someone who has worked on these trails and has seen the trash brought in through certain areas by people who are driving pick-up trucks, other vehicles, to include trailers, (refrigerators, tv's, stoves etc., as an example). We cleaned up an illegal dump site a few years ago, just off the trail and took out quite a few TON's of trash. This is the problem with open trail entrances such as the one at Clarence. We do open the gates for the larger vehicles during the chicken bar-b-que and pig roast. Speaking of pigs: If it were not for the litter pigs doing what they do we would not have to spend good money to prevent their actions. The money could be spent for trail maintenance etc. SSRTA has wider gates and bollards that the one's at the State riding areas. Any wider and you invite the trouble as printed above. Don't blame SSRTA management---blame the people who use the place as a dump site.

Hey Ed how's life treating you. I understand your post and your frustration. I believe you opened the gate for my wife and myself for our rzrs to fit through.
I think what has some of the people fired up is a post that "ride guide" Dave Mishop I believe is his name one of the trustees of ssrt made on another forum. He bashed sxs's pretty bad calling people who rode them some un kind names. That post spread like wild fire over several forums. I know quit a few people sent e-mails to the ssrt president over this to see if ssrt felt this way or was it just his personnal vendetta against sxs's and got no respose. I think by not responding kind of fanned the fire instead of helping it go away.
I will be the first to thank ssrt for providing a great place to ride and for all the work they do. I just wish the ballards where 3" wider but that's my problem.
