Yo do they groom these trails? Or are the trails covered in 2 ft of snow this time of year. We did SNIRT one year and some of the guys say if its going to be like that screw it, so I might be alone, glad I found a friend to hang out with on this ride. This ride is going to be great.

I found this info . Maybe it can answer you question.
Go to the Allegheny National Forest web site . Then find the link for snowmobile trail conditions .
I did'nt find anything on the Marienville or Timberline trails listed as groomed.

I could call them and see if they would plow and salt them so that kittys belly fur domt git wet tongue rofl
But really, as long as we dont get dumped a foot or more snow the night before, they should be packed down. not sure what grooming is? , other than someone going in front of me to break in the trail. kold kutters are in, i'm ready to go

here's the web site, and read the section on firewood if your planning on tending a fire.

Snirt was NO FUN cause all we did the whole day was wait for the sport quads cause they couldn't move a foot with out rocking their sportquads left and right just to move. LOL!! Those sports were high centered the whole day on 2ft deep ruts. The ruts were so deep I don't think I had to steer the Cat all day, cause once you got in the ruts you couldn't get out until they were intersected with other ruts. The Utes had No problems in that stuff but the sport quads ruined a good day of riding. LOL!! Nobody in my group has a sportquad but if its going to be pulling sportquads all day and pushing them they would rather ride somewhere else, we got lots of other places to ride. LOL!!!

Seriously , we'll just have to wait till about the 3rd and see what the conditions and forecast are. We all know the Pa. weather changes from week to week . Unless everything is ice or they get 2 feet of fresh snow , I'll do my best to be there . Should be a great ride .
Just to give those that have never riden Timberline an idea what it's like . It took me 2 1/2 hours to do the entire trail out and back during the summer , by myself nonstop in a Teryx . Now just add SNOW ...... lol

i like to ride in the snow.just not an unmanaged cluster cluck like Snirt is. IMO this is the best time of the year to ride.

You can ride right from the forest lodge onto the trails. And it will be wait and see as for the snow, lot of people ride here, and should be ok unless we get a big one. I have seen sports having trouble at times, but mostly right after a big snow fall.
I will most likely have the scrambler, but some others in my family have rode trail blazers and trail boss's with out any trouble. I will probably stay at camp near benezette and drive over in the morning.

Hey I almost forgot about this, are there places to stop for fuel near the trail? If not do you guys carry extra fuel? I'm farely sure I can go atleast 60-80 miles on a tank. Will that be enough? LOL!!
