This was done on my 2012 Teryx. I believe earlier models had a different size joint but not 100% on years...so...
Kawi wants $72 for a boot kit. Thought Can-Am was bad, huh?!
So I had a couple new Polaris boot kits in the garage. Long story short, I am all ready to see if they will hold up as well.
I can't tell everyone how to change a boot...but after years as a tranny mechanic, I've had my hands in tons of axles and joints.
They actually fit tighter than stock. Rubber rather than injection molded plastic.
Anywho, here are some pics, part numbers and such...
The small clamp with the boot kit will work.
The large clamp will NOT work so a universal will...NAPA/Balkamp box above is the clamp you will need. At full extension, end of suspension travel, the clamp is close at @ 1/8 inch. Dont worry...once you let the vehicle down the clamps aren't even close! This is a first to me and have no guidelines to go by. I still need to get this thing out and see how it does!
$30 Factory polaris boots still better than Kawis 72 doolar ones...think of the $$$ Polaris will be raking in if this has good results.
