I'm a big fan of the Marienville trail at ANF. Some rocks but not a rock crawl, a lot of ups and downs, some mud and puddles, etc.. The Timberline side feels a little too much like riding a car on a dirt road, or else riding a car through a gravel quarry, or just riding a car through a post apocalyptic gas well depending on the section. I haven't been to any other big trails in PA. Which other ones are out there that come the closest to the feel at Marienville?

Whiskey Springs is perhaps the best state trail I ever rode. A lot of woods riding, some play areas in old coal areas, and some mud.

Thanks for the recommendation. I see that they're considering connecting that to Bloody Skillet. I've never been to them yet, but it sounds like things are moving the right way at last.

I was at Gettysburg recently and got to look at the area where the Michaux state forest trails are, and it made me want to give them a try when they open in December.

I have never been to Michaux but I heard most of the trails are rocky.
