Hello everyone, glad I found this website. I'm another frustrated NJ rider who dreams of long rides without worry about the police. I'm planning on trying out some PA sites this year, even though the drives will be long in some cases. I'm not waiting for the spring either. My ATV'ing partner (wife) suddenly became disabled about two years ago, so I'm on my own. See everyone on the forums,
Paul

If you want to ride the state trails or some other areas like Snow Shoe Rails to trails, you will need to register your machine in PA.

Hi Mike, the DCNR website states that registration in PA is not required for "ATVs owned by nonresidents covered by a valid registration in their state, province, or country that honors Pennsylvania registration." I'm registered and insured in NJ. So the question is, does PA recognize my NJ reg? thank you
(addendum: I just looked up state reciprocity, I'm good to go)

DCNR must have changed policy because in prior years they did not honor NJ registration. You do also need liability insurance but that is cheap.

Central part of PA has the better riding.

I saw that, I should join up. That's even a little further away for me, but my plan is to try to ride every month in 2018 if I can. Hope you see you guys at one of these group rides.

Paul

Right now the riding is limited at Snow Shoe due to a mining reclaiming project. They are connected to Bloody Skillet so when that is open you can ride directly to the trail system. Hopefully in one more year the project will be complete and the other side of SSRT will open. They also have plans to extend their trail further, the hope to do this this year.

There are also plans to connect Bloody Skillet to Renovo.
