I'm interested in some advice on where to stay in Potter County. I'm thinking of taking my 13 year old son to ride on Memorial Day weekend. I would like to stay at a hotel that has access to the trails .

Any recommendations would be appreciated.

The place for you to stay would be the potato city country inn located on route 6. The state trails which are easy, smooth trails run right behind it. Between the state trails and the many unmapped trails in the area which you can access right from the inn there is plenty of riding to keep you interested. There will be other riders staying there to socialize with if you wish. They have a restaurant, barbecue grills outside and a fire pit for a bonfire. The owner is very accommodating. You and your son will have a good time riding out of there.

Thanks for the info Tenpoint12. It sounds like a plan. I contacted the hotel today and will be making reservations.

I appreciate the advice.

I know this is an old topic but to let everyone know the Potato City Inn closed and will be auctioned off. Several bad winters of no snow caused a lack of business (The ATV trails are not open in the winter in Potter County)

Hey mike from what I was told it has been sold and will be bought by the state and they will be making a new psp barracks there, I hope it does not effect the trail system

It shouldn't change anything, it is legal to cross route 6 to gain access to the trails and there is a connecting trail to the old inn.

Yup I know the trail your talking about I would be more concerned about the size of their building or fence around it but I am sure they will make it work some how

The campground's feature is being able to ride to the trails. I don't think that will change.

I am surprised nobody else took it over, the campground is always busy and there are those who prefer a motel room for riding verses the campground. They only have a few cabins and they are always booked.

Just booked a campsite at Potter County Camp Ground, to ride Susquehannock Park. I was curious with all the surrounding roads that the local clubs have done a great job making legal to ride on, are there any restaurants that are within riding distance that are legal to ride to? Thanks

Deb's at Cross Fork. There is also a store in Germania that has ice cream and hoagies. You can get fuel at both places.
