I've been snapping the cable on my new winch while plowing snow. It's mounted on a grizzly 350 and it's so low on the machine that it barely hits the fair leads. Any suggestions on rerouting the cable so that it pulls in a better angle?

My friend mounted a pulley on top of the bumper and ran the cable up thru that on his grizz

Mount a roller to the top of the plow. run the cable through it and than back down to the frame that way it wench can run in and out stright.

the other good recomendation i have seen is replacing the winch cable with a seat belt. it will take the repeated short pulls much better than any winch cable.

if just mounting a pulley to the rack isn't possible for whatever reason, i have seen pictures where a guy made a frame that attached flat to his rack, stuck out 8 inches or a foot into a "V" with a pulley mounted in the "V" with the winch cable routed up and over te pulley then down to the plow.

Hammer, thats exactly what my friend did with the frame on the rack. Guess i should have been more specific..sorry

Warn offers a additional pulley set up for that attaches to the rack or front cross bar. I have the syn. rope on my winch and have had no problems all winter long. I know you can get an 8 foot section of the syn. rope just for the plow.

I like to use the manual lift on my plow. seems quicker up and down and no need to unravel winch cable. i have used it for two years on my polaris sportsman and never broke yet.
