steel or aluminium?

well I think I am gonna order some tires soon .Should I use my stock steel wheels or buy some purdy aluminium wheels?  My stock wheels are pretty beat up  from rocks. How do the aluminium wheels hold up? Has anybody cracked or bent one riding?

Any wheel will get beat up, but at least the ITP wheels are guaranteed against breaking. Mine got bent pretty bad which lead to craking when I tried to straighten it out. Sent ITP an e-mail and a pic, had a new wheel in 5 days. I never even had to send the bad wheel back! Look for tires with a good bead guard. The Bighorns don't have one.

X2 on the rim guard. My mudzillas have an very nice recessed rim guard that is deep in the tire. Beside a few minor scratches, they still look new.
If you want to dish out the cash, you could always go with bead locks that have replacement discs but then your getting into a heafty price tag.
Dont forget as well, steel is going to be heavier than the aluminum so you might notice a loss on the bottom end with power. I have always went aluminum

I do think as far as the stock steel wheels go, Polaris does make the best. I have yet to have to replace a stock steel wheel.   How do like those tires?

My steel wheels are all dinged up and that pretty much tells me fancy aluminium rims won't be fancy for long on my Cat! Waste of money for me! LOL!!

p0laris steel wheels are good. but don't like falling off trailer and getting dragged down road. only bent one.

Ive got almost 100 mileson my ITP wheels, and they are fine. Been up and down somw pretty crazy stuff, but or the real test see what Goods has. I think they are the only part he hasnt replaced on his this season!!!!
