I use Mobil 1 0w40 in my Polaris's. I get it at Walmart. Its cheaper than the Polaris oil at my local dealer. I still use the Polaris filter, still looking for a quality aftermarket filter to use.Any suggestions? Thanks.

I run Wix filters on all my wheelers and snowmobiles. If you take it to your local auto parts store they should be able to match you up.

Mcfly is right. I did just find a cross reference article for a co-worker. I'll have to see if i can find it again

Any tips on getting the filter off, I changed the oil and filter last week on my wife's sportsman 300. It was the first change and I had a heck of a time wrestling the filter off. It was n extremely tight.

in my cars i've had to jam a screw driver thru the filter before so i could use the screw driver to turn in

Use one of the rubber filter wrenches or I usually use a large pair of channel lock and crush the end of the filter down and twist it off the the pliers.

If you can get a hand on it, I sometimes use @ a 2" piece of sandpaper or emery cloth. The extra grip can help alot.

The newer Polaris oil is supposed to be 2W-50, which no one else makes(big surprise,huh?)

I priced the Amsoil 0W-40 and wix filters...you really don't save much, so i just stick with the Popo oil change kit.
