I've been trying to figure out how to add a pic with my screen name . I think it's called an Avitar ?

Click on the "My stuff" button and then go to "edit profile". There is a little box at the bottom of the page to upload an avatar

The URL would be the link to the pic you are going to use. Meaning you cannot up load a pic you nerd to use a site like photo bucket. And copy the URL and paste it. Make sure the pic is the proper size for an avitar

All my pics seem to be to large............

you'll have to resize them. i think the size limit was 85 x 85.
if you're on photobucket - bring up the pic you want, and there should be an "edit" link with it, and then a "resize" option. shrink it to 85 x 85 or less, save a copy of the pic. then pick the new url to the small pic & plug it in the avatar field on the site.

Hey, 4x4dad. If you are using photobucket, delete the [IMG] characters at the begining and the end of the img code after you paste it in the URL box. It worked for me.

Well... I shrunk the image to 84x83 and pasted the URL code in the Avitar box . Still not coming up ?

I'm trying to upload a pic for my avitar and keep getting the message "wrong picture type" I have resized it on my photobucket page and removed the IMG at the beginning and end of the pic and still can't get it done. Any ideas guys?

i have not even found the spot for the photo yet.....LOL...

All I remember about the trouble I had , was making it small enough , then printing the right stuff in the box without the img thingy..... LOL

try photobucket copied the direct link for layout pages

i found it But cant get it to work....Why can'T they just but the Browse button next to it so you can just up load it from your pc... make it simple.

what is the extension of the pic that you are trying to use? .jpg, .bmp?

Under Edit Profile under "url to your avatar" if your file/address doesn't end in .gif, .jpg, or .png then it looks like this forum won't accept it. You have to translate it to one of the above suffixes using a photo program. I've done it in photoshop before.

go to your photobucket account. move ur mouse over that pic so u see the stuff pop up underneath it like the img code, direct link code. copy the direct link code, then paste that into ur profile for the url of the avatar.

Cool makes you feel good you can get it done. Already changed mine this morning old was a little to dark and small couldn't make it out. Now it's time to try and post up some other pics, yhis should be fun!
