I looked hard for any mud on it. Finally found some under the seat under the included tool pouch. I was also under the impression the tires were 26's, but a closer look shows 'em to be 27's.

Since I was in my Father in Law's yard, I refrained from opening it up ... just puttered around the yard until I got to his driveway, and then I gassed it. Comparing it to my old Sportsman 700 with stock tires, the performance seems fairly even, simply because the Polaris had to build up revs before it took off. This things just goes whenever you touch the gas. Much better for the slow, technical rocky rides since the power is easier to modulate.

I always found it strange when riding to not see that many King Quads on the trails, as they are nearly as bulletproof as a Honda and are an overall great quad on the trail. Seems like a lot of guys sold theirs to buy Can Ams, but those have their own set of problems when ridden hard. The older ones lack PS, and due to their twitchy steering, the Kings really benefit from that. I see SuperATV is now selling a PS kit for under $700 for the KQ, so I can see adding one of those to this ATV down the road.
