Old Rail Tunnel from 1879 leads to a highway culvert that's twice as long. A good place to shake some mud off.

Actually , I kinda wondered about pictures with creek crossings on any ATV trail . The DEP is a real stickler on that kind of stuff . That is why you'll see many nice bridges over creeks at Tri County property. Or trails blocked from use until the money and manpower are available to bring it to spec .

Remember , we all reflect the ATV sport every time we ride . Please be respectfull and follow the rules . Even when you think no one is watching .

I think I just got scolded by 4x4dad ! I respect your opinion, but beg to differ. There are plenty of state and private trails with creek crossings and I don't think the impact of OHV crossing creeks is anything compared to small boat engines that leave 2 stroke slicks on our state waterways. If there is a bridge crossing and we're asked not to ride the creek (Rock Run for example) then we respectfully oblige. deal But man is a lot funner going through rather than over!

Ummmmm.... well , not intentionally . I cross the creek on my parents property . I meant on public riding areas . I could'nt figure out how the public areas were'nt getting warned by the DEP . Like TC has a couple times .

The reminder was just an FYI in case some people like going off trails to play in the creeks . Just wanted to let other people know that it's a public riding area no no as far as the DEP is concerned and I'll assume now , the Game Commission . Sorry if it sounded like a scolding .

No worries, it's important to be respectful of the rules of the land and to minimize our impact.

The tunnel looks like a large culvert in excellent condition. The date is still plainly seen on it. What is the location of this stone culvert? I would like to research the old railroad bed ?
