My Polaris Sportsman 500 started leaking gas out of the gas tank overflow tube. It can just be sitting there after i fill it up or out on the trail, after a fill up. Not sure, but read on some posts there should be a check valve on the end of the hose. It's the hose that runs over the handle bars, behind headlight.

It is designed to keep pressure from building up in the tank. With warm weather like we have been having gas expands. it might be splashing around and getting into the vent tube and then expelled.

Far as I know there is no check valve, just open ended on a high part of the machine. This way as gas is used up, it prevents suction in the gas tank.

You may be filling it up a bit much for this warmer weather.

read After looking a bit yehthat could also try more of a loop "higher" from the cap the handle bars, or a little less wheelie ride'in rofl

Form it into a double loop under your handlebar and hide it that way, less likely to splash out.

If the gas is going beyond the bottom of the filler neck, it is too much.

I always topped mine off and just expected the leakage of the excess. Common on the Po-Pos.

No biggie if gas was .99/gallon...at 3.69 it is liquid gold!

You could try the above suggestions, but I believe they run stuff the way they do for a reason.
