Having an issue with my used razor. after about 3-4 hours or 30-50-miles of riding at ssrt my razor won't idle. just shuts off when i stop. no other problems and runs fine when going down trail. last time it did it i cleaned air filter and reoiled it put in fuel injection cleaner and filled gas up. ran fine and then yesterday it did it again. today i pulled the air filter out and tried to start it and no change. still no idle. any thoughts from any one. need fixed for july forth holiday rides. thanks. dave

Dave pull your filter again and look inside to your throttle body and see if there's any dirt in there. If so pull the throtle body and clean it up. As for re oiling a filter. Rzr's aren't very big fans of that type of filter {K&N} I would suggest replacing it with a polaris paper filter or a Donaldson filter. Then while your there adjust your throttle linkage. Easy to do and you'll be surprized at the free HP you'll gain. PM me if you want to go over this.

Again, be sure to check the free play in the throttle linkage, could be a malfunction in the ETC

Sound like Gary hit the nail on the head. Those throttle bodys can get caked with crap not allowing the propper air flow and creating a stall condition at idle. You can get a can of Throttle body cleaner at any autoparts store. At work I use the cleaner and an old tooth brush to clean them on cars. K & N filters are awesome but some fuel injection systems are very sensitive and when some of that oil leaves the filter and gets on some sensors (air intake temp, mass air flow) it can cause some problems.

I took the throttle body off and sprayed it out with carb cleaner. LOL!! Then I put it back on and so far so good! I run the paper filter till I figure I need a EMP or whatever better air filter system.

Exactly Rudz. The TPS is right after the air filter on a Rzr and the oil from a K&N play havoc on them. K&N are great filters for more air flow. Just some applications such as rzr's don't get along well with them unless there relocated.

I have been running a UNI filter in mine for 4 years now. stock filters are absolute junk. problem is some people don't know how to properly clean & oil them. They must be air dried before oiling & don't use to much oil. This is where most problems come from. To much oil messes everything up. Also the BAP sensor that is between the filter and throttle body should be cleaned with mass air flow sensor cleaner and nothing else. place a small amount of grease around base of filter where it slides into the housing. this will keep alot of stuff from getting around your filter. I also grease the air filter lid then snap it on. my TB is as clean as the day I brought it home. I now have 2,900 miles on it.

Smaller engines are fine with the K&N, but the twins just run at higher rpms and suck hard(NO COMMENTS). I went back to the factory filter/pre-filter screen after cleaning gunk out of the intake tube. Never had a problem since.

Glad u got it straightened out.
