Hello everyone and Happy New Year! I have a question I'm hoping someone can answer for me. I have an 07 Grizzly 700 and I purchased a Groundhog ATV loader for it from Concord equipment several years ago. The company has since gone out of business and I can't find any info about it on the Internet. It is an electric over hydraulic loader that uses a deep cycle marine batter to power the loader. It is supposed to charge off the atv but I must not have it wired correctly because over the course if several years it has drained and ruined two atv batteries. The instructions that came with it weren't very clear on the wiring part of it. I have it wired in parallel. + to + and - to -. There was an extra ground wire included with the loader but I didn't think it needed 2 grounds. If anyone has one of these or could help me possibly figure out how to keep it from ruining another battery, I would be extremely grateful. Thank you for your help!

Pretty tough to charge a deep cycle batt off atv. Deep cycles like slow trickle charges. I would disconnect it from atv charging system and just charge as needed using 2-6 amp charger.

I'll try and post a pic soon. I have the loader off at the moment for a little fun in the snow.

Thank you. I'll give that a try and see how long the deep cycle battery holds a charge.

Something to try. On both my machines I have a marine grade trickle charger mounted perminately. When done riding I just plug it in until we ride again. Keeps the battery at full charge and will make the battery last. Also I only use a gel base battery on a ATV. I run alot of lights and electronics and have never had any issues.

That is a really good idea. Where did you get your chargers? Thanks.

I don't own one, but heard good things about the battery tenders.

I got mine at Gander mountain in the boating section. It's a marine grade so no worries about it getting wet. I believe it was $39

Walmart sells at Atwood Marine battery tender. Its a permanent mount system. Very small and easy to use. I use it on my boat all the time which has 2 deep cycle marine batteries wired in. One for the electrical components on the boat and the other for the stereo. Always keeps them fully charged and very easy to conceal and use.

I've got 2 Battery Tenders . One on the Teryx and one on the lawnmower . The Teryx battery is original 2008 and the lawnmower's is about 3 years old . Both are holding up fine . thumbs
