Only been there once. Very challenging park. My opinion not side by side friendly.

Lots of trails, alot of them are in the open strip mine fields and can be very dusty if it is dry out. The woods trails are very challenging and rocky. But the last time I was there alot of the riders were family type of riders and there are alot of access roads to ride for easier riding. They do have something for everyone and have camping if you are looking for that.It was recently under new management and I did see alot of equipment arouind so it looks like they are planning on doing alot of grooming of the trails which were badly needed in alot of the areas.

I have only been there once. It was during Quadfest a couple of years back. Overall it is a nice place to ride. There are a lot of technical trails and also open trails.

Thanks all for the input much appreciated. Going to give it a try this weekend, weather is looking nice and spoke to the owners. management today, seems a lot of new trails have been added and groomed, they say it is very SXS friendly , but we are bringing our XMR quad also just to be sure. Thanks again !

Good info, think I'm gonna give this place a try this weekend also, will write up a report afterwards. Little nervous to travel this far for a place I've never been, and i cant find too many recent reviews on the place, but what the hell, they were super nice and informative on the phone, a nice change of pace as compared to a lot of places that act like they are doing you a favor to let you ride there, despite happily taking your money (the DCNR being the worst offender). Theres a few videos out there that don't look too bad, some open stuff to rip on, and some harder stuff for the big quad guys. We r going Sat, I think they are having an event on Sun and given how dry it's been I'm picturing the dust bowl with a big event happening. We'll have a KingQuad500, a Grizzly 450, (both on only there 2nd ride, yup, after years of riding alone I finally wore my friends down and they all got quads, 3 of them, even got them to split a trailer with me), and a YZ250.

Hmm, 2hrs 23mins from York. Not bad ... As bpc mentioned, there isn't any worse sector of PA to live in than our southeast corner here.

Looking FWD to a few ride reports from you guys. Let us know how it compares. Thanks

Gary, yea we have been to rock run a few times in the past, nice place, but a bit to rocky for our liking , plus we have never been to mountain ridge, so looking forward to checking a new place out. I appreciate the heads up though !

bcp50: we will be in our Maverick sxs, or on our xmr1000, cant miss us. Hope to see you there. I am a bit nervous riding at a new place by ourselves, but it sounds like the place is clearly marked. Weather is looking perfect too.
Thanks all !
Darin & DJ.

We are staying for the weekend and are lodging at the indian lake resort only 2 miles up the road, looks like a nice place and not expensive either.
We will be riding both Saturday and Sunday as well. Your more than welcome to tag along with us as well, my son who has Autism loves seeing other riders ride with us, however we do ride at a faster pace ( very aggressively ) but if your on sport quads im sure you do too , lol !

Ran into a few complications so we won't get there until about 11 or 11:30 tomorrow. I drive a silver chevy truck with a black enclosed trailer. Maybe we can tag along in the afternoon, pace shouldn't be a problem.

Sounds good, we ourselves will not be getting in there until around 9 or so anyway. We are in a big ford white van with a flatbed trailer. We will most likely do some exploring at first , wont go out too far, we will keep any eye out for ya. We will be in a Yellow /black Maverick sxs.

Hey Bob, we'll be there on Sat, not sure of arrival, hopefully by 11. I'll wave u down if we see u, we'll be the guys that you are flying by. We'll be the slowpoke of the day, its basically the first real ride for both the guys I'm bringing. They'll be on red KingQuad 500 and green Grizzly 450, I'll be the guy on the blue YZ250 just in front or behind them, wishing I could drop the hammer, but trying hard to remember that it's their first full day out.. There real first time out a few weeks ago at Michaux was very brief, and they learned real quickly of the respect these machines deserve, with a parking lot wipe out that caused damage to brand new quad and to a surprised rookies arm (just some bumps, blood, and bruised ego). My fault, as i was flying around on the Raptor, leading the way, forgetting that first timers don't know that 500 ute quads don't do what Raptors do. Lessons learned on day 1. Day 2 should be a great time. Hopefully we'll see/meet you guys (Bob and DJ) tomorrow. - Brian

Brian, sorry to hear of their first time out, but glad no major injuries. Hope this trip for them is awesome and with no injuries ! As for pace, I know we will be going a bit slower than usual because we dont the trails there and first time at Mountain ridge, just looking forward to a great weekend in the mountains.

We rode EVERY trail there with a 68" wide Maverick, no problem at all. LOVED the place and will be hitting it again several times this year. Great place.

Is there anything challenging there? I want to go there this year. I have never been there and only live about an hour away.

It is very rocky on most all trails. There are a few black rated trails that are pretty much rock crawls. There are a few hills and some bottomless mud pits. I will go there again for a change-up, but those rocky trails will work you on a long day.

Been there a few times. They do have some good rock crawing trails that will give you a good work out. The mud holes can be deeper than they look. There's plenty of other trails that u can go fast and wind thru the fields. I enjoyed riding there and would go back.

I definitely plan on going this year. It doesn't really sound a lot like my type of riding but, with the limited of legal riding here in Western Pa, who can be picky. We all ride sport quads and rock crawling and bottomless mud doesn't sound like my cup of tea but I definitely want to go. I am familiar with the area so it sounds like they could make some hills if they wanted to. I think everyone is afraid of getting sued.
