What type of camera does everyone use on their helmets. Was thinking about the GoPro but it has a high end price. Any suggestions.

I picked up a Sony HDr-as15 from best buy in the spring for 110 bucks.the quality is basically the same as the gopro and it has built in WiFi which comes in handy. I had problems with the lens fogging up but have since resolved the issue with proper storage techniques.

Idk if they still have it for that price. I believe the currently sell the new model which is a hdr-as20 I believe.

Whatever you get make sure it has a 170°ish field of view. This helps the video appear smoother for action shots.

I got a gopro hero 3 this past winter, i had been wanting to get one for a long time, and i know they are expensive but i gotta say I'm really glad i got it, the video quality it great the seem like they are the preferred camera for motor sports, one nice thing about the go pro is there is a lot of choices for different mounts to meet your needs. I'm not saying they are the best camera out there but they definitely do the job well

if you want something inexpensive, try a vivitar from walmart. for about $50, you get the camera, waterproof lens, and a bunch of mounts. All you need is the sd card.

obviously, not the best out there...but for $50, I don't care if it gets ruined.
