Just wondering if our voices will be represented here? Found it on Solomans Words.

Registration is now open for the PA Wilds Trail Summit, to be held Nov. 12-13 in Williamsport.

The conference will provide local governments, trail professionals, advocates, volunteers, and users with a venue for sharing practical, up-to-date trail management and advocacy skills; as well as a forum for networking and building support for accessible, inter-connected, and a sustainable trail systems in the northern tier region.

Participants in the conference will include representatives from local government, public and tourist promotion agencies, diverse trail organizations, trails-related businesses, engineers, and community planning professionals. This investment and sharing of knowledge will ensure the revitalization of our rural communities.

Speakers and vendors must register by the end of October; participants have until Nov. 5.

Registration information and a draft agenda for the event can be found here. Hope to see everyone there

Sounds like a great chance to push the Hatfield & McCoy trails idea here in Pa. For those riders out there that are always saying they have no place to ride , here is your chance to be heard ....... ok

looks like this has been postponed until march of next year. but this has the potential to be something really amazing. It is good to see that some people are realizing the potential of having large scale trail systems, I've recently read that the AOAA has already met their goal for first year earnings, they are already successful and they are not even completely open. I would like to see them start by just connecting the existing state trail systems to one another (bloody skillet, whiskey springs, potter county, haneyville). This could lead to creating other trails systems, which could make everyone start saying Hatfield and mccoy Who? :)

If you consider ALL of the new gas lines the gas drillers are creating , half the work is already done . I've heard property owners in north central Pa. say areial views of our State Parks look like a spider web of gas lines & access roads . Abandon railroads & forest timber roads could furnish the rest of the trails .

It has always amazed , but never surprised me how the DEP & DCNR & PA Game Commission suddenly change thier tune about access and erosion when the BIG MONEY from timber or gas industry suddenly show interest in thier ( protected acres ??? ) . If some group already had the leg & paper work and legislation passed to protect property owners of the trails for a H & M type trail system , some baby kissing , candy stealing politician would be more than happy to take ALL the credit for the economic boosts for job & recreational opportunities the system would provide.... deal usflag

I contacted them about a month ago to see if they were going to have the trail summit, it turns out they decided to not have the big trail summit like originally planned. Instead they decided to have a series of round table discussions. I believe the first one is planned for next month.
