Shenango Dam - Bayview ORV Area

The Bayview ORV Area is open for the 2011 recreation season from May 27 through September 25. Operating hours are sunrise to sunset. ATV riders are reminded to observe posted regulations.

Regulations for ATV Riders Using the Bayview Off-Road Vehicle Area

Riders must stay within the posted boundaries of the riding area. Operating an ATV outside of the designated riding area will result in the issuance of a citation, impoundment of the ATV and/or local and state penalties.

Riders must have a current registration for the ATV and display a registration sticker or state issued registration plate.
Helmets must be worn at all times.

Riders under 8 years of age are not permitted to operate any type of off-road vehicle in the Bayview ORV Area. Riders 8 to 15 must complete a safety education course and possess a current safety training certificate before being permitted to operate any type of off-road vehicle. The rider must be in possession of the certificate while riding at Bayview.

Other rules and regulations posted in the area must be observed at all times.

Bayview is pretty small, you can ride it all in less than a half hour. A few water holes, and a small hill or two.

There have been many problems wtih riders not respecting the boundaries, the place has been threatened with closure a few times because of this.

Atv Traction Mercer has "adopted" Bayview, they do cleanup and other duties to help keep it going.

Been ther plenty of times, and now it is only 5 minutes away from work for me. It is pretty small but you can play around there and kill 3-4 hours exploring. You can check out some pics and a map of the place here:

I drove by over the weekend. Been thinking of checking it out. does it get very busy? Looks like it would be good for kids and new riders. It's about an hour-hour and a half from me, is it worth the drive?

SOMEONE SAID YOU CAN'T TAKE IT WITH YOU! SO,IM BURNING IT UP ONE GALLON AT A TIME!
