Hey everyone! I recently purchased and rebuilt / overhauled 2 atv's for my boys and now am faced with the burden of finding a trail. I'm new to YORK and am having the hardest time finding some land to ride on!!! I've gone under 83 and rt 30 on those trails - but looking for another site - where do ya'll ride around here?? Most of these state parks are hours away and let's face it, gas prices are through the roof!!! Please help me out!! Thanks!!

BigDaddy, I used to live in southern York county, and there was absolutely no place worth while in the area. You need to travel north to the RAC land, or Michaux state forest out past Gettysburg.

Join the club BigDaddy. That's kind of why I joined this site in hopes to find something. We have a couple local places, but it sounds like you've found those already. We've gone under 83 and all of that. We go to Green Ridge in Western MD. It takes 2.5 hours to get to the foot of the Mt., and it only costs $15 for a one year registration. We're also looking at a place down just above Harrisonburg VA.
JustinHEMI, I heard Michaux is not very well maintained but I've never been there myself.

Thanks for your suggestions fellas - wow 2.5 hours is a long haul!! My boys are 3 and 5 ... they are atv junkies already!! so thats 5 hours of driving just to romp and roll for a few on the bikes... I wish I had some connections with some big land owners to roll through their back yards.. even a wide open corn field would do.. they just wanna ride!! 4x4... tell me more about Northumberland

Up and down our road, LOL. Our Pastor's got a little bit of land down south, but barely enough to get up to speed. I found what appeared to be from some Bing maps birds eye view of trails down by the Holtwood dam on the Lancaster side, but it's all poasted and caged up pretty good.
The only other thing is that guys are saying the Michaux (JustinHemi) state park. It may be worthe a shot sometime. York needs something. There's so much land it's not funny.

One of the guys I first started riding with was from York and he would come up to Pottsville and ride RAC with us and if I remember right he used to say an hour to hour and fifteen minute ride. http://www.readinganthracite.com/access-permits/RAC is separate from the Anthracite Adventure place.
